We reviewed solving equations by elimination. Students took notes on 1 variable and 2 variable inequalities. They practiced solving and graphing a 1 variable inequality. Then they practiced graphing a 2 variable inequality. Remember to switch the direction of the inequality sign when dividing or multiplying by a negative number. For 1 variable inequalities, it is best to write it with the variable on the LEFT side to make sure that you graph it correctly. When graphing a 2-variable inequality, remember to use a dashed line for < or >, otherwise use a solid line. Test a point (that is not on your line). If it makes a TRUE statement, shade on the side of your point. If it makes a FALSE statement, shade on the opposite side of the line. Students who scored below a 75 on the Unit 1 Test are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to complete the Test Repair assignment on USA Test prep which was distributed on 1/6. Unit 1 Test Repair is due this Friday, 2/17. No late assignments will be accepted. Attached is the grade repair document. Unit 2 Test will be Thursday, 2/16. Students received the Unit 2 Study Guide in class today and have problems #1 - 9 to complete for homework in addition to a few problems in the inequalities packet they received in class today.
