Study for your parallel lines & transversals quiz tomorrow. Review your vocabulary notes, solving algebraic expressions in angles and constructions. Complete your review sheets for extra credit!
We are finishing translating words into algebraic expressions and have started to review for our Unit 1 test which will be on Friday. You were given your Unit 1 Study Guide yesterday and were given problems #1 - #10 to complete as part of your homework. Attached is the study guide if you need an extra copy. Please review your vocabulary sheet that we filled out together on Monday. Yesterday we reviewed the angles that we see with parallel lines and a transversal. Make sure you know which angle pairs are congruent and which ones are supplementary.
Congruent angle pairs: corresponding, alternate interior, alternate exterior & vertical Supplementary angle pairs: same side interior, same side exterior & linear pair We reviewed a few proofs yesterday and will continue to review the reasons for statements. Today and tomorrow we will be covering geometric constructions: copy line segment, copy angle, bisect angle, perpendicular bisector parallel line through a point, inscribed square, inscribed hexagon, equilateral triangle. A great website to review constructions is mathopenref.com . Click on "constructions" and you will see all of the constructions. The videos are great and they give step by step instructions. Start preparing for your quiz on Friday! Today we covered unit conversions (metric to metric and standard to standard). Start reviewing the equivalent values on your yellow metric/standard resource sheet. You also have the flashcard sheet to practice memorizing these values. Your homework is to complete the back side of the sheet (#13 - #24). The sheet is below. Today we reviewed for the Unit 1 test on Transformations. Homework is to study for your transformations test which is tomorrow, Friday, 1/20. Review your rules for the various transformations and review your vocabulary.
Yesterday we added and subtracted polynomials. Today we multiplied polynomials. Please review your guided notes on using the box method to multiply polynomials. Homework is to complete part I - perimeter and part 3 - area. Quiz correction sheets are due on Friday. Below is the work we completed in class today using the box method to multiply polynomials. Today we covered rotations. Tomorrow we will be reviewing for our Unit 1 test on Friday. Please complete the rotation worksheet for homework if you did not finish it in class. Review the graphic organizer on the transformations.
On Friday, students took Quiz #1 on Unit 1 (simplifying, multiplying, adding & subtracting radicals, indicating type of number sums and products of rational and/or irrational numbers). Friday we started polynomials. Notes on classifying polynomials were handed out. We completed a few classifying problems as a class then students used the remainder of class time to complete the classifying chart. Attached are the notes, classifying document along with the answer key. We will start next week with adding, subtracting and multiplying polynomials. Study for your Unit 1 quiz on transformations (translations, reflections and dilations) which will be on Tuesday, 1/17. Wednesday we will cover rotations, Thursday we will review for your Unit 1 test which will be on Friday, 1/20. Below are the answers to the quiz review guide we completed in class on Friday. |
