Today we learned about rational exponents, changing from radical form to rational exponent form and simplifying rational and radical expressions. Below are 2 videos of the notes. Video #1: Rational Exponent notes, page 1: Video #2: Rational Exponent notes, page 2: Today we learned about composition of functions. Below are videos of the notes. Homework: Complete the "Composition of Functions HW". Video #1: Composition of functions notes, page 1: Today we learned about function notation with operations with polynomials. This is a good review with adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing polynomials. The videos of the notes are below. Classwork: Complete the "Operations with Functions HW" Homework: Complete the "Quiz Review" Video #1: Operations with functions notes, page 1: Video #2: Operations with functions notes, page 2: Today we took notes on understanding function notation with Polynomials to be able to identify roots, factors and y-intercepts. We also learned how to solve for "k" given a factor of a polynomial. The video of the notes is below: Homework: Complete problems #1, 4 & 8 on pages 37 & 38 (WS 8 Checking for Understanding). Also complete pages 41 & 42 (WS 9 Analyzing Graphs using Technology). Video: Function notation with polynomials & solving for "k" notes: Today we learned how to divide polynomials using synthetic division. The video of the notes are below. Homework: Complete the "Synthetic Division HW" worksheet. Show ALL work and upload into CTLS. Video: Dividing polynomials using synthetic division notes: Today we analyzed graphs using some new vocabulary terms to describe graphs of polynomials: intervals of increase and decrease, local / relative maxima, local / relative minima and absolute maxima & minima. Below are the 2 videos explaining the notes. Homework: Complete pages 37 & 38 (but skip #1, 4 & 8). Review factoring. Quiz is Monday. Video #1: Analyzing graphs notes, page 1: Video #2: Analyzing graphs notes, page 2: Today we learned how to divide polynomials using long division. Below are three videos that explain the notes. Homework: Complete the "Dividing polynomials using long division HW" worksheet. Show all work and upload into CTLS. Video #1: Dividing polynomials using long division notes, page 1: Video #2: Dividing polynomials using long division notes, page 2: Video #3: Dividing polynomials using long division notes, page 3: Today we learned how to find all roots of a polynomials given a complex root. We reviewed how to find all zeroes given the factored form of an equation. Then we also learned how to write the equations of polynomials in standard form given one complex root. Since we didn't have time to explain all homework problems from yesterday, I included a video explaining the ones you had questions on during class. Video #1: Explanation of homework WS 7 Finding roots HW (pages 29-30) problems #5, 6, 8, 14, 15, 18, 19: Below are the videos of the notes from class: Video #2: Finding roots of polynomials given a complex root notes, page 1: Video #3: Finding roots of polynomials given a complex root and solving polynomials in factored form notes, page 2: Video #4: Writing equations of polynomials in standard form given a complex root notes, page 3: Today we learned about Pascal's Triangle and the Binomial Theorem. Videos of the notes are below. Homework (will count as a classwork grade): Complete the "Binomial Theorem" worksheet that is posted in CTLS. Show ALL work and upload into CTLS.
