Monday, September 30th: Today we will learn how to find a side length in a right triangle given one side length and one acute angle measure. Below is the video for the notes on pages 15, 16 & 17 in your Unit 3 - Right Triangle packet. Classwork/homework is to complete all of the problems on page 18 & 19.

Friday, September 20th: below is a video explaining the notes for finding an angle in a right triangle: Thursday, September 19th: We took notes on how to identify reference angles in right triangles, labeled the sides of right triangles (hypotenuse, adjacent and opposite) and write the trig ratios for sin, cos and tan. Below is the video for the notes on pages 1 and 2 in the Unit 3 - Right Triangle packet (ignore that is says Spring 2019, it is the same material): If you were absent for the Unit 2B review, watch the 2 videos below that review the answers: Today in class we reviewed triangle similarity problems and the "shadow" word problems from the homework. We then learned about the triangle proportionality theorem. When there are one or more parallel lines, it divides the triangle (or segments) into proportional parts.
: HomeworkComplete pages 35 & 47 in your Unit 2B Similarity packet. Your unit test will be next week on Tuesday, 9/17.Be sure to HIGHLIGHT the 2 parts on the side with your variable (highlight each one a different color). Then highlight the SAME LOCATION on the other side of the triangle. The highlighting will help you determine what values you need in order to set up your proportion. See video previously posted that reviews the notes on this.Today in class we reviewed the combining functions homework. Then we learned how to write arithmetic sequences in the explicit formula and in the recursive formula.
: HomeworkComplete problems #1 - 12 on the back of the first page (Arithmetic Sequences Worksheet #1). You only have to write the explicit formula simplified. After you write the explicit formula, distribute, combine like terms and then write in format similar to y = mx + b. You will have an "n" in your equation instead of an "x".Below are videos for the notes for class today. Properties of ALL parallelograms (rectangles, rhombi and squares are all parallelograms): 1) opposite sides are congruent (side1 = side2) 2) opposite angles are congruent (angle1 = angle2) 3) consecutive angles are supplementary (angle1 + angle2 = 180) 4) diagonals bisect each other (diagonals are split into 2 equal parts) Additional property for rectangles & squares (all squares are rectangles): 1) diagonals are congruent Additonal properties for rhombi & squares (all squares are rhombi): 1) diagonals are perpendicular 2) diagonals bisect the angles : HomeworkStudy for your quiz tomorrow.
